Temples, tantric rituals, palaces and sweet little girl

 I am still waiting for the group and trying to recover from the cold as well as see as much as I can see considering the traffic, dust and my cold. It is not a fun place to hang out but is an interesting historic place and hopefully a beginning of a wonderful journey.
Jet lag is in full force, woke up at three to arrange the stuff and watch tv. TV is just full of depressing news, should have brought movies etc. 
I went out with a guide to see the top things to see in ktm, first two being temple and patan darbar.  The temple , swaymbhunath, is the Buddhist temple but also has temples and statues of Hindu goddess and of Ganesh and hanuman.






Most of the Nepalese are Hindu and Buddhist mixed in the sense that most tehmples has deities from both religionns. Steps lead the worshippers on the top of the hill where the temple is. The old woman is worshipping the budha and Ganesh. There is the temple for goddess sarswati who is the goddess of knowledge and wisdom. Monkeys we're everywhere, getting all sorts of food including biscuits. Many Bollywood films are shot there and it a said the Beetles came here first when there searching for the meaning of it all and became rich and famous.
Patan darbar was the kingdom of the napalese king in twelth century. The art and architecture is amazing and also the fact that in this remote area, they had such a intricate culture and society. The Himalayas are the play ground of Lord Shiva nad family , so by default the original tribal people are Shiva worshippers and are also tantric ( pagen and witchcraft). Even today , there is a strong animal sacrifice tradition and one of the pictures shows the fresh intestine of recently sacrificed bull and his blood strains all over the door and walls.

In the afternoon I went to see the Royal palace. It s usual palace with lots of big rooms and period furniture. One big difference was that the room, the bullet holes and the stains of the king and his family are all there.( From 1980 massacre). 
This little girl be friended me and showed me around.  I am still amazed by her friendly Ness and knowledge .

    Instead of movies or tv, try meditation. You have a perfect surrounding for success.

Trail that was not really there and illusive Gorek shep

Khumbh glacier, base camp ,kala pathar aal in the plain view and are spactacular was the reward for the trek. We scrambled over the rocks and up the hills and down the hills, all of which was the gift of the glacier and it's melting away. There was glacier ice under the dirt and rocks but the so called trail was non existent. You know the general direction and you trust the guides and your insticts and put one foot in front of another. After reaching the top of one hard climb ,we could expect to see Gorek shep except to find another hill to climb. It went on all day till finally the welcome sight of few little structures and yaks resting around was seen. This was such a relief...the thing is you cannot let a single negative thought cross your mind because there is no other option except to go on. Istanbul airport

Istanbul airport Flight to islanbul by Turkish airlines was comfortable and relaxing. I feel sorry for my fellow Traveller who had to put up with my caugh. He was nice and polite and inspire of being Indian did not talk much or ask millions of questions Not much to report right now , except to say that every time I pass by here I feel like USA has lot more to do to make America great again. The service. The cleaniness and just the Elegance of the airport and lounge is so much better than our SFO and others. ...food is excellent but I am trying to stick to my no sugar and cooked food and lts of chai. Turkish chai is wonderful.  Got to go, hope my cold will be gone by the time I land in KTM. Oh saw couple of movies, circle and life. Cirle is great if you want to be worried about what's going on now a days...good movie. Life was typical scary science fiction.
