Afterthoughts......yak yak yak......

Having done the trek, I will love me to write down my dos and don't for future trek.what? Am I planning another trip ? Obvious answer is YES
I think it is easy to hooked on to these  vistas, the group spirit, the care of the Sherpas, warm tea and cold rooms of the lodges and the Dal Bhat....
The nature is unspoiled inspite of hundreds of trekkers and the absence of any vehicle makes this place unique and inviting. So here are short answers to obvious questions ( this is only my humble opinion)
Will I recommend it? Yes , yes and yes
What is essential for this kind of trek? Training, lots of it..hill training.
A group that is high in EQ and is stronger as a whole than an individual.
A compassionate and competent team of Sherpas who are your guardian angel s.
A resident doctor in the team who is not afraid to make hard calls.
A flexible, open and accepting mind that accepts " what is" at any given moment.

And most of all lots of luck

What should we bring next time:
1) get good quality gear. Layers of clothing, Rain gear, thermal, fleece, down, layers of gloves, layers of socks ( toe socks) , hats that cover ears, mufflers, shoes and poles.
2) good quality sleeping bag, a liner
3) down booties and shoes to wear around the lodge
4) hand warmers, toe warmers.
5) pharmacy of all the medication you can think of, thermometer, vitamins, extra vitamin c or airborne
6) water bottles, good bladder, water purifying tablets, bottles for warm water
7) sun screen, lotions, soap
8) some favorite food, salty and crunchy,..
9) get yourself checked medically and listen to your doctor. Do not endanger yourself and your group..

What not to bring

1) any negative thought. As soon as a doubt enters your mind, you are doomed to fail. I learned this very valuable lesson here.
2) the Porters carry your load, think of them before you pack extra clothes. I used three pairs and that's it. I should have taken half of what I did.
3) there is always food available. Do not carry those bars , nuts and anything else. They are heavy and unnesessary. Support local economy, it is no burdon for you.
4) know your limitation and push only to your own limit.

Bottom line:. It is a challenge, I learned a lot about myself, I learned about  the power of ,"sangham" ( group) and I learned to respect nature and I learned to respect  the kindness of human spirit. I now know that the only thing that is for sure is "now"
God night for now. If I can help in clarifying anything or if I can help in anyway, please do write the comment and I will reply.
Please feel free to add to my list also.
