It is really happening....mahayatra

It takes a village......

My visa was messed up and I decided to get it fixed rather than waiting till the departure time. Mira and Vinaya offered to come along so we piled up in a taxi and went to the immgration office. The office and the process were no different than the SF office but we felt like people were more polite and they were happy to help. At one point three of us, stood in three different lines. We got the visa fixed in a record less than the two hours. I do not think I can say that for San Francisco office.
Taxing around the town by ourselves has made me very comfortable about the town. I feel if I do not think and just look and feel, this place could easily be Indore ( my home town) or any other medium class city in india. The suburbs, the markets, the shopping malls and the people and traffic are all identical.
We had to do our standard swim. The pool and the water all awesome.
I feel better that my cold is lot better and also because the group is here. There is lot of laughter and companionship but also anxiety about what we are embarking in next couple of days. Since I am the old timer here now, we went out for the shopping adventure in the tourist (ThemelJ area. Lots of fun things to buy.
On serious note , we had a meeting with the guide and he went through what to expect and what to do. I have to admit that I am scared and nervous but being with this group of people makes me very comfortable too. I will try my best and take whatever comes. There are too many variables and pretending to be under control is foolish.
We are given the standard duffel bags and we are to put all our belongings in the bags and to make sure they do not exceed 10kgs. The porters will carry the bags and we will carry our water and some day needs
We will do an official site seeing tomorrow morning and then just pack and relax in the evening to get ready for the mahayatra. Had a wonderful Chinese dinner with the group with lots of laughter and fun. Good night for now, I hope not to wake up at three...good night,

  1. Team matters. Just looking at those wonderful smiles and the sign language, sitting here miles away I'm silently confident. The group is prepared, I feel. There is no weak line as the team binds with one focus. May you enjoy great weather, may Nature be on your side and may the Up and the Down be done with the smiles I see here. Enjoy the moment and the ones that face you.
