Preparation for the trek: ATMs, duffle bags and the rest
We fly to lukla tomorrow morning so the preparation are in full force. We are told that now on: no alcohol, no meat, no coffee in the evening and drink lots of water.
Getting some Nepalese money for the trek, was challenging to say the least. ATMs are lined up along the road but only a few of them take America visa. It is unnerving to see tbe machine, in the tiny isolated booth, take your visa card and then nothing happens
Spent few hours stuffing the duffle bags. Everything in ziplock plastic bags and covered properly. Trying to guess what we will need and how the weather will be is interesting and I keep thinking about the people who do REAL. Back packing ๐
We did a little sight seeing as a group. Unfortunately,I had done that two days ago, but it was fun to hang out with the group and be an unofficial tour guide....
I feel tired, may be the anticipation or recovering from the cold or the uncertainty of things ( but everything is life is uncertain) but am happy that I am a part of a larger group. Mira and I swam a little and feel much better. Hopefully we will sleep better tonight. Last big dinner with live Hindi music , it feels like we are all sitting in India and just having a great time.
It is not clear if and when the plane or the helicopter will take off tomorrow, everything depends on the weather and the mountain. We will find out tomorrow morning, we will be ready to go at six in the morning. It is a good practice in practicing patience, flexibility and everything budhist have to teach us, no wonder budha is so popular here๐

You must be resting now but remember you are an experienced campaigner.
You've spent 70 years facing up and downs, you know that life only takes you higher.
So, high you will fly and enjoy every moment dear Saroj.
